    Q: Return Policy
What is your policy regarding refunds and returns?

A: Returns and refunds will be processed on a case-by-case basis.
There will be NO refunds for sizing issues once items are used; please ensure that you measure your child correctly for fit.
Returns for fit/sizing CAN BE accepted for in-store credit on items in unwashed, unworn condition. Please contact me before sending your items back for confirmation. Once item is received, you will be issued a discount code for the value of your purchase.
For workmanship defects, you can choose between having the item repaired and receiving a 1/2-price store credit on your next purchase, a replacement item of equal value, or a full refund once the item is returned.
I am very easy to work with as long as I know what the issues are.
Items that are sold in used condition are sold as-is and therefore not eligible for our return policy.

    Q: Detergent/Washing options
WHAT SHOULD I USE TO CLEAN MY CLOTH DIAPERS?

A: Stick with fragrance free detergents. Be sure to avoid detergents with whitening enzymes. It will say on the back of the bottle/box if the detergent contains enzymes or not. Personally, I use Tide Free. Being in Canada, there are a lot of diaper-friendly detergents I don't have easy access to. Simple Green is supposed to be great!

A wonderful mama just directed me to a Canadian site that sells Wonder Wash, a natural detergent (the same as Charlie's). You can go to www.wonderwash.net to find a retailer near you.

Avoid washing cloth diapers with soap products since repeated washing with soap creates a waxy build-up that reduces the aborbancy of cloth diapers.

***Don't forget that you only need about 1-2T of detergent to wash your diapers, as opposed to the 1/2 cup you would use for regular laundry. Using too much detergent will cause horrid build-up, resulting in a stinky diaper and rashy baby!

    Q: Washing Your Cloth Diapers
What's the best way to wash my cloth diapers?

    A: **some exerpts from www.diaperpin.com**

Wash and dry new cloth diapers 4-5 times to remove chemicals. This will also increase the absorbancy of your cloth diapers.

The washing instructions are for a full load of cloth diapers. Handwash all wool covers.
Cold rinse/soak. Fill washer with cold water and diapers (usually pre-sprayed with a diaper sprayer or dunked in the toilet to remove solid waste). Let agitate for a few minutes and then open lid and let soak for an hour or so, or even overnight if you have lots of yukkies!

Hot Wash. Empty the bin and run the wash with hot water and your choice of detergent.

Double Rinse. Add about 1/2 cup of vinegar during the first rinse. If you have a washer with a fabric softener compartment pour the vinegar there when starting the hot wash. Otherwise you can throw in a Downy ball filled with vinegar. **I only do this about every 4th or 5th wash load or when the stinkies start!

Rinse again with cold water - I tend to err on the cautious side and can end up re-rinsing my diapers ALL day if I don't have any other laundry to do!

    Q: We've got stinkies!
What is causing that ungodly smell in my diapers and how do I get it out?

A: That lovely stench in your diapers can be the result of a few washing issues.

    #1 - Detergent buildup.

You could be using too much detergent, or a non diaper-friendly detergent. To check for buildup, run your diapers through a hot wash with NO detergent. Are there bubbles anyway? If so, you've got buildup!

To strip diapers, just keep running them through hot washes with only water until there are no more bubbles.

You can also include baking soda when washing or soaking your cloth diapers as a preventative measure.

If you use baking soda in the wash or soak, make sure to use vinegar in the rinse, This will help restore the pH of the cloth diapers. Otherwise your baby may end up with diaper rash.

    #2 - Not Enough Detergent.

You might just be using too little detergent to actually get your diapers super clean. Try upping the detergent a little and see if that helps.

    #3 - Stinky Hemp Buildup.

Uh oh! This is the dreaded "knock you on your bottom" acrid smell that greets you from the nursery (or even the middle of YOUR bed if you C/S) when baby wakes up in the morning!

If you have hemp inserts or soakers, you've got buildup on your hemp. You need to BOIL BOIL BOIL! Seriously!

I boil my hemp diapers and inserts about 1x a month. I have an old camping pot that I fill with water, put on the stove and bring to a boil. I throw everything in (usually in small batches to keep the water moving) and boil for about 5 minutes or so.
